Abstract: A DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSCERVICAL RECOVERY OF OVIDUCTAL FLUID Abstract of the Invention The present invention relates to a transcervical system and method for non-surgical recovery of oviductal fluid from live bovine subjects. The system comprises a flexible multi-port aspiration catheter formed from medical-grade platinum-cured silicone and a modified delivery sheath adapted from a bovine embryo transfer applicator. The sheath provides a semi-rigid transcervical access channel, while the catheter advances beyond the sheath into the oviductal lumen under rectal palpation guidance. The catheter includes multiple lateral aspiration ports and a proximal Luer-lock connector for attachment to a syringe to enable fluid aspiration. The method permits recovery of oviductal fluid in conscious, restrained cattle without laparotomy, endoscopy, or general anaesthesia. The invention enables repeated and fertility-preserving sampling suitable for metabolomic, proteomic, transcriptomic, immunological, and reproductive analyses, while remaining compatible with standard veterinary reproductive procedures and sterilisation methods.
