MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082150 A) filed by Cvr College Of Engineering on July 03, 2026, for A Design Of Experiments Based Lc–ms/Ms Method For The Development And Optimization Of Amino Acid Analysis In Fruit Samples.

Inventors include Dr. Hussain Shaik; and Dr. K. Venkatesan.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a systematic Design of Experiments (DoE)–based approach for the improvement and optimization of a liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analytical method for the analysis of nitrosamine impurities in pharmaceutical drug products. The invention integrates simultaneous optimization of critical liquid chromatographic and mass spectrometric parameters to enhance sensitivity, selectivity, and robustness. By evaluating interaction effects and establishing a defined analytical design, the method minimizes development time and experimental effort. The optimized practice is capable of detecting nitrosamines reliably at trace levels even in complex samples, thereby fulfilling all the regulatory criteria, thus rendering it a perfect candidate for use in the pharmaceutical industry.
