Abstract: The proposed invention provides a drug delivery system for a pharmaceutical formulation. The invention comprises a ready to use film dosage form having microemulsion of an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient embedded in polymer and a process of making the same. The film dosage form's microemulsion is made to be absorbed through the mucosal route. The delivery system provided by the present invention offers an effective dosage form that enhances the dissolution rate profile, solubility, and bioavailability of drug. Additionally, it provides ease of administration, improved patient compliance, and a promising alternative to conventional drug delivery systems. A method of preparation of said delivery system is also provided.
