MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091925 A) filed by Vignan'S Foundation For Science, Technology & Research Deemed To Be University on July 29, 2026, for A Decision-Support System For Multi-Criteria Evalution And Ranking.
Inventors include Dr. Yalamanda Babu Gopisetty; and Dr. P Sudam Sekhar.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: TITLE: A DECISION-SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR MULTI-CRITERIA EVALUTION AND RANKING A decision-support system (100) and a corresponding method for evaluating and ranking alternatives using heterogeneous multi-criteria data has been proposed in the present invention. The system comprises a processor (102), a memory (104), a storage unit (106), a data input module (110), a criteria classification module (120), a fixed-reference normalization module (130), a weight assignment module (140), a separate aggregation module (150), a Composite Ratio and Euclidean Aggregation (CREA) evaluation module (160), a ranking module (170), and an output module (180). The system receives a decision matrix, classifies evaluation criteria into benefit and non-benefit criteria, normalizes the criteria using predetermined reference bounds, assigns objective criterion weights, separately aggregates benefit and non-benefit criteria, and generates composite evaluation scores for ranking the alternatives. The system further provides decision-support outputs including ranked alternatives and evaluation scores while improving ranking stability and reducing rank-reversal effects through fixed-reference normalization and separate aggregation of benefit and non-benefit criteria.
