Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a decentralized blockchain-based NFT gift card system (100) for securely creating, managing, and redeeming personalized digital gift cards on the Cardano blockchain. The system (100) comprises a user layer (102), a frontend layer (104), a blockchain layer (106), and a smart contract layer (108). The user layer (102) enables interaction through one or more Cardano-compatible digital wallets. The frontend layer (104) facilitates wallet connectivity, NFT gift card customization, recipient information input, and transaction initiation. The blockchain layer (106) communicates with the Cardano blockchain network to construct and submit transactions, manage unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs), and retrieve on-chain transaction data. The smart contract layer (108) comprises an Aiken-based Plutus V3 validator configured to generate an on-chain datum containing a recipient public key hash, lock a predetermined amount of ADA at a script address, validate recipient authorization through cryptographic signature verification, and release the locked ADA exclusively to the designated recipient, thereby providing a secure, immutable, decentralized, and recipient-exclusive blockchain gifting platform. The figure associated with the abstract is Fig. 1.
