The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dasatinib-loaded exosomal nanocarrier system for cancer therapy and a process for preparation thereof. The invention comprises extracellular vesicles derived from bovine milk, incorporating dasatinib as the sole active therapeutic agent. The vesicles are isolated using differential centrifugation, purified, and subjected to drug loading via passive incubation, freeze-thawing, or ultrasonication. The freeze-thaw-loaded formulation (Exo-DAS-FT) was selected as the preferred formulation based on its reported in vitro drug-release and cytotoxicity profiles. The nanocarrier system was characterised by its drug-loading efficiency, particle size, morphology, in vitro drug release, and cytotoxicity against cancer cells. The invention provides a biologically derived vesicular carrier for dasatinib delivery, with potential applications in pharmaceutical compositions intended for cancer therapy.
