MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541063948 A) filed by Icsbit Labs Private Limited on July 04, 2025, for A Cybersecurity Module For Endpoint Protection And Traffic Control In Industrial Control Systems.
Inventor includes Prashanth A C.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: INLINE HARDWARE CYBERSECURITY MODULE FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION ENDPOINT PROTECTION ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a novel inline, hardware-based cybersecurity module for industrial control systems (ICS) operating at the field and process levels (Purdue Model Levels 0-2). The said module provides robust endpoint-level protection by autonomously learning legitimate traffic behavior, enforcing granular whitelist-based filtering policies in real-time, and optionally encrypting communication, all without requiring modifications to existing industrial infrastructure or device firmware. A key feature is its ability to duplicate all device-level traffic via a parallel port, providing unprecedented visibility into blind spots such as daisy-chained or serial-connected equipment for external monitoring and forensic analysis. The module of the present invention supports both Ethernet and serial protocols and is designed for non-intrusive deployment in brownfield environments, offering an effective last-mile defense against cyber threats for PLCs, RTUs, and IEDs.
