Abstract: A cyber-resilient Internet-of-Things gateway system (100) includes a packet-processing interface (110), gateway processor (112), hardware trust anchor (116), attestation controller (118), isolated threat-learning execution region (120), model-update controller (122), traffic-enforcement controller (124), protected state store (126), and autonomous recovery controller (128). The hardware trust anchor generates a learning-eligibility token only when gateway firmware, communication interfaces, threat-learning code, behavioural-model state, and observation telemetry satisfy predetermined integrity and freshness conditions. A stable behavioural model is therefore protected against updates using telemetry acquired during an unverified state. Behavioural deviation information is combined with a hardware-rooted attestation state to generate a composite trust state that controls packet forwarding, protocol permissions, session credentials, network isolation, and minimum-service communication. Authenticated counter-linked records prevent firmware, policy, model, and recovery-state rollback. Upon compromise, the gateway invalidates affected sessions, activates hardware-verified recovery, and progressively restores device communication according to post-recovery trust states.
