MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099136 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University on August 17, 2026, for A Cyber-Physical Smart Waste Management System And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Japnoor Singh; Dr. Prabh Deep Singh; Dr. Kiran Deep Singh; and Dr. Vikas Tripathi.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cyber-physical smart waste management system and method for efficient monitoring and collection of waste. The system comprises a plurality of IoT-enabled waste bins equipped with sensors configured to detect fill level, weight, and environmental parameters, a communication network for transmitting data, and at least one processing unit configured to analyze the data. A predictive analytics engine is utilized to estimate future waste accumulation patterns based on historical and real-time data. A route optimization module dynamically generates optimized collection routes for waste collection vehicles by considering predicted waste levels, traffic conditions, and operational constraints. The system further includes a vehicle management subsystem for guiding and controlling the movement of collection vehicles and a feedback mechanism for real-time updates. The integration of sensing, prediction, and adaptive control enables reduced fuel consumption, prevention of waste overflow, improved resource utilization, and enhanced efficiency of waste management operations.
