MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441084418 A) filed by Jayaprakash Narayanan K on December 05, 2024, for A Customized Optical Visual Endodilator For Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Tract Dilatation.

Inventor includes Jayaprakash Narayanan K.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A customized optical visual endodilator for Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy tract dilatation The invention provides an optical tract dilation system (100) and a kit (200) designed to streamline percutaneous renal access during procedures to minimize procedural steps and tissue trauma while optionally reducing reliance on fluoroscopic guidance. The system (100) comprises a customized endodilator including an internal scope segment (101) and an external dilator segment (102) arranged coaxially to provide continuous visualization and progressive, single-step or limited-level dilation of the renal tract. The scope segment (101) includes imaging, illumination, and irrigation channels for endoluminal feedback, while the dilator segment (102) employs tapered, telescopic, or balloon-assisted configurations for controlled expansion. The access sheath (103) maintains tract patency and serves as a protective conduit for subsequent surgical instruments. The system may be supplied as a reusable, sterilizable kit (200) with interoperable components. The integrated design enables safe, efficient, and radiation-free renal access, offering a unified solution adaptable to varied patient anatomies and procedural requirements.
