MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541029982 A) filed by Gmr Institute Of Technology on March 28, 2025, for A Cryogenic Thermal Energy Storage System For Renewable Power Integration.

Inventor includes Dr. Pankaj Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the cryogenic thermal energy storage system for renewable power integration. The cryogenic thermal energy storage system comprises renewable energy input (1) solar and wind power are used to power the system. Air compression & liquefaction (2) excess electricity is used to compress and liquefy air/nitrogen. Cryogenic storage (3) liquefied air/nitrogen is stored in insulated tanks. Waste heat recovery (4) captures heat from the environment or industrial sources to improve efficiency. Expansion & power generation (5) the stored liquid air expands through a turbine, generating electricity. Artificial intelligence (AI) based control (6) optimizes energy input, storage, and output (7) based on real-time grid demand.
