MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101370 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology-Warangal on August 21, 2026, for A Cross-Compiler Verification System.

Inventors include Dr. Sangharatna Godboley; and Prof. P. Radha Krishna.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: TITLE: A CROSS-COMPILER VERIFICATION SYSTEM A system (100) for verifying the correctness of a compiled binary (106) generated by a cross compiler (104) from a source input (102) has been proposed in the present invention, without requiring access to the internal details of the cross-compiler as shown in figure-1. The compiled binary (106) is transformed into PowerPC assembly code (110) using a code-to-PowerPC translator (108), while the same source input (102) is independently processed by a trusted compiler (112) to generate a corresponding assembly representation (114). An equivalence checking module (116) compares the two assembly representations to evaluate their behavioural consistency and produces a proof report (118) indicating equivalence or non-equivalence. The system ensures that the observable behaviour of the compiled binary matches that of the source input and does not introduce erroneous outcomes. This approach enables reliable verification of cross-compiled outputs in the absence of compiler transparency, making it suitable for safety critical and high-reliability applications.
