Abstract: The invention discloses a crash impact resistant stiffener (202) for being used as inserts (or polymeric pad) within Body in White (BIW) in a vehicle. The stiffener (202) comprises at least two epoxy resins, a toughener component, one or more reinforcement components and a physical blowing agent. A method (400) of manufacturing the same is further disclosed. The crash impact resistant stiffener (202) is capable of overcoming the issues associated with severe buckling or deformation of a vehicle body in white. The stiffener is adapted to provide sufficient strength to the structure.
