MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611093182 A) filed by Manipal University Jaipur on July 31, 2026, for A Cpvt Thermoelectric System With Earth Water Heat Exchanger.
Inventor includes Sanjeev Jakhar.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated hybrid renewable energy system that combines a Concentrated Photovoltaic/Thermal (CPVT) module, one or more thermoelectric generators (TEGs), and an Earth Water Heat Exchanger (EWHE) to improve electrical power generation, thermal energy recovery, and cooling efficiency. The system comprises a solar concentrator directs solar radiation onto the CPVT module, which generates electrical energy while producing excess thermal energy, a thermal collector attached to the rear surface of the CPVT module absorbs the heat and transfers it to a circulating working fluid. The TEG modules are positioned between the thermal collector and a cooling fluid channel to generate additional electrical energy from the temperature difference between the hot collector and the cooled fluid. The cooling fluid circulates through a closed-loop EWHE comprising underground buried pipes that dissipate heat to the surrounding soil before returning to the thermal collector. The geothermal cooling provided by the EWHE maintains a stable temperature gradient across the TEG modules and reduces the operating temperature of the CPVT module, thereby enhancing photovoltaic conversion efficiency and thermoelectric power generation. The integrated system simultaneously improves photovoltaic performance, recovers waste thermal energy, generates supplementary electrical power through thermoelectric conversion, and provides sustainable cooling with reduced auxiliary energy consumption, resulting in enhanced overall energy utilization efficiency.
