MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411097366 A) filed by Synthimed Labs Private Limited on December 10, 2024, for A Cost-Effective Process For Preparing Intermediate Of Ivacaftor.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cost-effective process for preparing a compound of Formula 2 with high yield, an intermediate of ivacaftor, from compound of Formula 3 wherein no additional organic solvent is used during preparation of Formula 3. Further, the compound of Formula 2 is converted to ivacaftor by coupling it with a compound of Formula 2’.
