MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541008373 A) filed by Ather Energy Limited on January 31, 2025, for A Cooling System For A Battery Pack In A Vehicle.
Inventor includes S N, Gokula Krishna.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cooling system (202) for a battery pack (12) including a plurality of cells (212) in a vehicle (10). The system (202) includes a heat transfer element (206) filled with a first fluid (208), and facilitates a transfer of heat from a second fluid (210) to the first fluid (208). The second fluid (210) continuously circulates in a closed loop (214) due to a thermosiphon effect. A heat exchange unit (216) is coupled to the heat transfer element (206) to reduce the temperature of the first fluid (208). The heat exchange unit (216) recirculates the cooled first fluid (208) back to the heat transfer element (206). Therefore, the present disclosure overcomes the limitations of traditional cooling systems by utilizing the thermosiphon effect for passive circulation, which eliminates a need for mechanical pumps within the battery pack (12).
