Abstract: A CONTROLLER AND METHOD TO DETEREMINE THE ROAD TYPE ON WHICH A VEHICLE IS NAVIGATING Abstract The controller 104 determines the road type for the vehicle 102 on which the vehicle 102 is navigating. The vehicle 102 comprises the camera unit 106 installed in at least one position selected from the group comprising of front, rear and side of the vehicle 102. The camera unit 106 is configured to capture at least one image. The controller 104 is configured to receive at least one image and process the image using the image processing module to detect the at least one road signage 108. The controller 104 identifies at least one attribute on the road signage 108 and determines the road type based on the at least one attribute. The determination of the road type and corresponding speed limit helps the driver to keep the vehicle 102 within the speed limit.
