Abstract: A CONTROLLER AND METHOD TO DETEREMINE DETERIORATION OF THE BRAKE PAD IN A VEHICLE Abstract The controller 102 determines the deterioration of the brake pad 114 in the braking unit 122 of the vehicle 100. The braking unit 122 comprises the brake disc 112, the at least one brake caliper 116 installed with the at least one brake pad 114 and the hydraulic circuit 118. The vehicle 100 comprises at least one brake pedal 106 and the controller 102 process the at least one signal received from the at least one brake pedal position sensor 104. The controller 102 measure the pressure in the hydraulic circuit 118 using the pressure sensor 124 and generate the at least one real time pressure characteristic curve corresponding to the at least one signal. The controller 102 compares the at least one real time pressure characteristics curve with the corresponding prestored reference curve and determine deterioration of the at least one brake pad 114 based on the comparison.
