MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621097259 A) filed by Heramb Amarendra Hasabnis on August 07, 2026, for A Controlled Process For Preparing An Infusion From Betel Leaf.

Inventor includes Heramb Amarendra Hasabnis.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a controlled process for preparing an infusion from betel leaf. The process includes preparing betel leaves by removing the central stem and tearing the leaves into two or more portions. Further, unroasted and non-heat-treated spice components are provided and sequentially introduced into a sealed vessel with a rose-petal preserve, dried rose petals, and the prepared betel leaf portions to form a layered botanical arrangement. A food-grade liquid extraction medium is introduced to submerge the botanical materials, followed by controlled infusion at 25–32°C, substantially excluded from light, for 8–12 days without agitation. The resulting infusion is filtered through a filter medium comprising at least two fabric layers to separate a liquid infusate from spent botanical material. The spent botanical material is then subjected to a gauge pressure of 0.5–3 bar (50-300 kPa) to recover retained liquid infusate, thereby producing the betel leaf infusion.
