Abstract: The present invention relates to a contactless railway track monitoring system. The system comprises an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (101) equipped with LiDAR sensors, optical cameras, thermal imaging sensors, and GNSS/RTK positioning modules, and an onboard computing unit for real-time artificial intelligence-based defect detection and track geometry computation. A satellite (102) acquires multi-temporal Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery for detecting ground deformation and subsidence along the railway corridor (100), including areas adjacent to railway tunnels (103). A centralized data processing station (110) receives UAV-derived and satellite-derived data and comprises a satellite ground deformation analysis module (111), an artificial intelligence defect detection module (112), and a monitoring and reporting dashboard (113). A data fusion engine within the station (110) performs spatialtemporal correlation of micro-level track defects with macro-level ground deformation vectors to compute predictive risk indices and generate regulatory-compliant maintenance reports. The system eliminates dependency on rail-bound inspection vehicles and enables high-frequency, cost-effective, and proactive railway infrastructure monitoring.
