Abstract: A CONSTRAIN - AWARE ADAPTIVE HEARING AID SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CLINICIAN - BOUNDED PERSONALIZED SIGNAL PROCESSING The present invention discloses a process-based constraint-aware adaptive hearing-aid system and method for performing real-time personalized signal processing within clinician-defined safety boundaries. The system comprises an Input Acquisition (201), Signal Preprocessing (202), Environment Classification (203), User Profile Database (204), Constraint-Aware Decision Engine (205), Validated DSP Core (210), and Safety and Output Validation (211). Acoustic input signals are acquired, preprocessed, and classified into environmental scenes including speech, noise, music, wind, crowd, and quiet conditions. A user profile containing hearing-loss information and clinician-defined parameter limits is evaluated to determine whether adaptive adjustment is required. Candidate DSP parameter values for gain, compression, noise reduction, and beamforming are generated, validated against safety boundaries, stabilized using controlled interpolation and rate limiting, and applied to a validated DSP core. The invention enables safe, smooth, computationally efficient, and explainable adaptive hearing-aid processing without unrestricted neural retraining or unsafe parameter variation.
