Abstract: A water filter comprising a conical filter body(2) with charcoal layer(5), gravel layer(6), sand layer(7) and filter net layer(8) stacked inside from top to bottom. A spiral protrusion(2d) runs on its inside from top till the gravel layer(7). A motor(10) with a ball(9) attached at its shaft(10a) is arranged above it. A torus shaped hollow body(13) with a plurality of holes(13a) surrounds it along its bottom. Water supplied by a tank(11) to the body(13) through pipes(12) flows out of holes(13a) as fountain that hits on the rotating ball(9) where the ball(9) splashes that water towards inlet(2a) of filter body(2) resulting in higher aeration of the water. The splashed water moves through the filtration layers(5,6,7) in spiraling motion induced by spiral protrusion(2d), encountering maximum surface area of the filtration layers. This filter results in higher and faster filtration in a compact space as compared to standard gravity based water filters.
