MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641119382 A) filed by Christ University on October 06, 2026, for A Computer-Implemented System And Method For Generating Composite Spatial Data Records Through Progressive Symbolic Mapping.
Inventors include Ms. Priyadarshini S; and Dr. Anna Varghese.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to mobile geospatial data capture and digital mapping. A mobile device generates a blank digital mapping space (101), (201) independent of preloaded cartography, receives placement (204) of symbols from a structured digital symbol library (202), detects a symbol placement event (301), and creates a Composite Spatial Data Record (401), (307) having a persistent linkage key (408). In response to placement, a non-blocking geographic coordinate acquisition request (303) is sent to a hardware location sensor (304), permitting continued symbol placement while geographic coordinates (305) are later bound to a separate geographic coordinate space (404), the symbolic coordinate space (403) remaining authoritative. The record may store lifecycle state, positional accuracy, annotation reference, and collective-unit identifier (414), enabling reconstruction, privacy masking, grouped analysis, and export as machine-readable geospatial records (407). The invention improves asynchronous field mapping, historical-current feature integration, and topology-preserving geospatial correction.
