Abstract: ABSTRACT [0023] The present invention relates to a computer-implemented decision-support system and method for objective criteria weighting in multi-criteria decision-making using Quartile-Adjusted Skewness Intensity Weighting (QASI-W). The invention receives a decision matrix comprising multiple alternatives and criteria, identifies beneficial and non-beneficial criteria, normalizes the criterion values, and arranges the normalized values criterion-wise. The system computes the first quartile, median, and third quartile for each criterion and determines quartile- based skewness to identify distributional asymmetry. A Quartile-Adjusted Skewness Intensity score is then generated by combining baseline criterion importance with the absolute quartile-based skewness value. The generated scores are normalized to obtain final objective criteria weights. The invention reduces the excessive influence of extreme observations and improves the interpretability of criteria weighting in asymmetric and heterogeneous datasets. The system is applicable to healthcare evaluation, biotechnology, biomedical assessment, sustainability analysis, and other decision-support environments involving multi-criteria data.
