Abstract: The present invention discloses a composition (100) for fruit fly management in cucurbit crops, combining attract and kill, baiting, and repellent actions. The composition (100) includes a Bait Application Technique (BAT) (110) comprising a spray mixture containing 10% jaggery powder (112) and 0.1% malathion (114), together with a Male Annihilation Technique (MAT) (120) employing a plywood block (122) soaked in ethyl alcohol (124), cue lure (126), and malathion (114). Additionally, 1% neem oil (130) functions as a repellent, and 88% to 89% water (140) serves as the diluent. The composition (100) provides spatial deployment, wherein neem oil (130) with BAT (110) is applied in a 1:5 row manner and neem oil (130) with MAT (120) is applied in a 1:9 row manner. The composition (100) effectively targets multiple fruit fly species, including Zeugodacus or Bactrocera spp., and is suitable for cucurbit fruit family. Refer:
