MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083498 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on July 07, 2026, for A Composite System For Pollutant Removal And Real-Time Environmental Monitoring.
Inventors include Dr. R. Sanjeevi; and B Gyani Priyanka Patnaik.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The invention furnishes a magneto-conductive biochar composite system (MCBS) (100) for simultaneous removal of microplastics and real-time environmental monitoring. The system comprises a magneto-conductive biochar composite (MCBC) (101) including a biochar base material (101a), magnetic nanoparticles (101b), and conductive nanomaterials (101c), integrated with a conductive electrode assembly (102) and a sensor interface unit (103) coupled to a microcontroller (104) and control and data acquisition system (105). A magnetic separation module (106) enables rapid, filtration-free recovery of the microplastic-loaded composite, while a wireless telemetry module (107) and power supply unit (108) allow autonomous field operation and remote monitoring. The regeneration and storage unit (109) restores adsorption efficiency for multiple reuse cycles. The system provides a scalable, sustainable, and automated platform that simultaneously captures microplastics, transduces adsorption events into electrical signals, monitors environmental parameters, and transmits data in real-time, addressing limitations of prior art remediation and sensing systems.
