Abstract: A compact eight-port millimeter-wave multiple-input multiple-output antenna assembly for body-centric 5G communication is disclosed. The assembly includes a Rogers 3010 dielectric substrate having a relative permittivity of 10.2, a thickness of 0.48 mm, and opposing radiator and ground faces. Eight T-shaped microstrip radiators are arranged as two rows of four radiators on the radiator face, each radiator being coupled to an edge-fed port. A closed-loop ground arrangement on the ground face includes eight rectangular ring portions aligned with the radiators. The ring portions confine surface current and increase impedance between adjacent radiators, thereby providing isolation without a separate decoupling element. The assembly has a size of 23.2 mm by 16.4 mm and operates across 46 GHz to 50.4 GHz, covering the 47 GHz n262 band. Simulated and measured evaluation demonstrates wide impedance bandwidth, inter-port isolation above 15 dB, low envelope correlation, high diversity gain, and maximum gain of 10 dBi.
