MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611065896 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on May 25, 2026, for A Colloidal Suspension For Additive Manufacturing And A Method Of Preparation Thereof.

Inventors include Santosh Kumar; and Govind Kumar Verma.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stable colloidal suspension for additive manufacturing and a method of preparation of the same. Further, the colloidal suspension exhibits tailored viscoelastic properties, high solid loading, and electrosteric stabilization as well as excellent extrudability and shape retention for fabrication of solid and porous architectures. In addition, the colloidal suspension enables precise layer-by-layer deposition with high dimensional fidelity and is compatible for pressure- less sintering. The colloidal suspension is obtained through a cost effective and facile method of preparation and further enables direct ink writing to print complex, defect-free ceramic architectures, thus exhibiting strong potential for biomedical implants and high-temperature structural applications.
