Abstract: Present disclosure discloses a closed type impeller (100) for a centrifugal compressor. The impeller includes a hub (102) and a plurality of blades (104) having a first end (106) and a second end (108). The first end is connectable along an outer surface of the hub to define a first passage (116) between adjacent blades to guide fluid away from the hub. Furthermore, the impeller includes a fillet (120) formed at an adjoining portion of the first end of the plurality of blades and the hub. Dimension of the fillet (120) varies along a length of respective blades of the plurality of blades (104). Moreover, the impeller includes a shroud (122) connectable to the second end of the plurality of blades (104). The closed type impeller (100) mitigates recirculates of fluid, and varying dimension of the fillet facilitates to evenly distribute stress generated during the operation of the impeller (100).
