Abstract: A system and method for the automated completion of unanswered calls on a computing device is disclosed. Every call attempt is recorded with a status field that progresses through ringing, connected, declined, deferred, missed or cancelled. When a call is not answered, the recipient is offered a defer control that opens a dialog for sending a short message to the caller and selecting a callback interval. The resulting obligation is persisted and later raised both as an in-application prompt and as a system-level notification. From the reminder the user may immediately return the call, snooze the obligation or mark it unanswered. A tabbed interface separates still- pending obligations from those already completed. Upon detection that a call or message has been directed to the same contact, the pending entry is moved automatically to the completed category and the outstanding reminder is cancelled, eliminating redundant prompting and ensuring that only genuine obligations remain visible.
