MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641100376 A) filed by Shivanesh V; J Rajkarkee; M Revathi Devi; and G S Akila Gandhi on August 19, 2026, for A Closed-Loop Biological Optical Biosensor System For Precision Agricultural Monitoring And Dynamic Soil Remediation.

Inventors include Shivanesh V; J Rajkarkee; M Revathi Devi; and G S Akila Gandhi.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: An automated, closed-loop precision agricultural soil remediation system is disclosed. The system comprises a biological optical biosensor array consisting of bioluminescent fungal strains distributed in predefined soil columns between crops, wherein the bioluminescent intensity and wavelength shift of said biosensors vary in response to soil parameters including nitrogen concentration, moisture level, and pH. An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) equipped with an optical scanner and bandpass filters is configured to capture fluorescent images of the soil columns at night. A diagnostic controller segments the images to compute localised soil metrics, identifies soil stress states, and transmits activation commands to physical actuators. The physical actuators regulate chemical mixers and solenoid irrigation valves to dispense remedial treatments to targeted crop columns in real time.
