Abstract: The invention relates to veterinary formulations for dairy animals, and particularly to a chitosan-based multiphase hydrogel composition configured for both topical and oral administration for wound care, mastitis management, and lactation support. The formulation comprises a chitosan gel base containing 1.5-3.0% w/v chitosan in 0.5% v/v acetic acid, a first polyherbal component formed from aqueous extracts of Anogeissus latifolia bark, Soymida fabrifuga bark, Glinus oppositifolius whole plant, Curcuma longa rhizome, and Centella asiatica leaves, and a second polyherbal component formed as a homogeneous paste from garden cress seeds, jaggery, ajwain, aniseed, fenugreek, bire noon, poppy seeds, dry ginger, black cardamom, nutmeg, water, and mustard oil. The invention further provides a preparation process involving defined sequential incorporation of the first and second polyherbal components into the chitosan gel base to obtain a homogeneous formulation exhibiting synergistic wound healing, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and milk-yield enhancing activity.
