The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT “A CHARGING INDICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES USING INTELLIGENT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER” The present invention relates to a charging indication system (100) and method for an electric vehicle. The system (100) comprises a charger (10), a Battery Management System (20), a CAN communication interface (25), a DC-DC converter (30), an instrument cluster (35), and a headlamp indication module (40). Upon charger connection, a charging-status signal is transmitted through the CAN communication interface (25), causing activation of the DC-DC converter (30) and wake-up of the instrument cluster (35) even when the ignition signal (45) is OFF. The instrument cluster (35) operates in a low-power charging display mode and selectively presents charging-related information including battery State of Charge (SOC), charging status, and charging progress while suppressing non-essential vehicle data. Real-time battery information is continuously received from the Battery Management System (20). The system (100) further provides charger-connection confirmation through headlamp blinking, automatic cluster shutdown upon charger disconnection, mobile-assisted information display, and ignition-based charging termination.
