MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541020111 A) filed by Zf Friedrichshafen AG on March 06, 2025, for A Bushing Joint Assembly For Vehicle Suspension Systems.

Abstract: A bushing joint assembly (10) includes a housing (13) having a through-opening (13a) in an axial direction. A bearing race (17) is embedded on either side of an elastomeric bushing (11) moulded on a straddle pin (18). The straddle pin, elastomeric bushing and the bearing race are press-fitted into the through-opening of the housing to form an interfer-ence fit with the housing. A retaining ring groove (13b) is formed in the housing to seat a retaining ring (12) that retains and locks the elastomeric bushing within the housing with a pre-tension. The bearing race comprises a stopper step (17a) on a face of the bearing race, such that the retaining ring (12) is located between the retaining ring groove and the stop-per step. A recess (17b) is formed on a face of the bearing race at the interface between the retaining ring and the bearing race to provide uniform pressure distribution on the circum-ferential contact area of the retaining ring.
