MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611072072 A) filed by Daimler Truck AG on June 10, 2026, for A Busbar Housing For Cooling Busbars In An Electrical System.

Inventors include Arka Patra; and Sarathchandra Konapala.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: A busbar housing (100) for cooling busbars in an electrical system is disclosed that improves thermal uniformity, reduces hotspots, and enhances power handling capability in high-voltage electrical environments. The busbar housing (100) includes a baseplate assembly (102) formed by an upper baseplate part (102-1) and a lower baseplate part (102-2) defining an enclosed internal cavity. At least one busbar (104) extends longitudinally within the baseplate assembly (102) to distribute electrical power to electrical units (106). Internal coolant channels (108) enable coolant flow through conductive regions of the busbar (104) for effective internal heat removal. At least one inlet port (110) introduces coolant into the internal coolant channels (108), and an outlet port (112) enables discharge of heated coolant from the enclosed internal cavity. A sump part (122) facilitates coolant circulation around outer surfaces of the busbar (104), enabling combined internal and immersion-based cooling for improved thermal management performance.
