MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511022146 A) filed by Indian Council Of Agricultural Research on March 12, 2025, for A Bull Sperm Rna Transcript Panel For Bull Fertility Prediction, Methods And Uses Thereof.

Inventors include Arumugam Kumaresan; Manish Kumar Sinha; Shivanagouda Patil; Ebenezer Samuel King J; Tirtha Kumar Datta; Rakesh Kumar; Ayyasamy Manimaran; Sakthivel Jeyakumar; and Kerekoppa Puttaiah Bhatta Ramesha.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to sperm transcripts that are associated with male fertility and a custom RNA panel containing probes for identified fertility-associated sperm transcripts, which assess their expression. Further, the present disclosure also relates to a machine learning model/tool/app that use the normalized count of the 85 transcripts through expression data obtained through sequencing using the developed custom RNA panel and predicts the sample is high or low fertile. The present disclosure will be a boon to the farmers to improve the farm returns and reduce the burden of repeat breeding/infertility in their cows due to failure of conception due to low fertility semen.
