Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a brake resistor system for a vehicle. The system (100) comprises a brake chopper [BRC] assembly (200) having a power module (202), a High-Power Resistor [HPR] assembly (300) having a plurality of resistors (302) and a plurality of first bus bars (400) configured to electrically connect the power module (202) with the plurality of resistors (302) of HPR assembly (300) to facilitate transmission of AC current from the power module (202) to plurality of resistors (302). The system comprises a thermal management unit (500) configured to control temperature of the BRC assembly (200) and the HPR assembly (300). The BRC assembly, the HPR assembly, the plurality of first bus bars and the thermal management unit are integrated within an enclosure (600). The integration of BRC assembly and HPR assembly within a single enclosure (600) provides compact system and simultaneously improve packaging flexibility of system.
