MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111261 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology-Warangal on September 16, 2026, for A Brain Computer Interface System For Cognitive Command Recognition And Emergency Communication.

Inventors include Myada Srujana; and Manish Kumar Bajpai.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: TITLE: A BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE SYSTEM FOR COGNITIVE COMMAND RECOGNITION AND EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION The present invention relates to a non-invasive brain computer interface (BCI)-based emergency communication system and method for recognizing predefined cognitive commands from electroencephalography (EEG) signals and automatically transmitting emergency alerts through a wireless communication network. The system (100) comprises an electroencephalography (EEG) acquisition unit (102), an analog front-end circuit (104), a command recognition module (106), an embedded processing unit (108), a positioning module (110), and a wireless communication module (112). The electroencephalography (EEG) acquisition unit (102) acquires electroencephalography (EEG) signals from a user through a single electroencephalography (EEG) electrode or a single electroencephalography (EEG) channel. The analog front-end circuit (104) converts the acquired electroencephalography (EEG) signals into digital electroencephalography (EEG) signals. The command recognition module (106) identifies predefined cognitive commands, and the embedded processing unit (108) verifies the identified predefined cognitive commands and generates an emergency alert. The positioning module (110) identifies the geographical location of the user, and the wireless communication module (112) transmits the emergency alerts together with the geographical location to predefined recipients.
