Abstract: ABSTRACT A BOTTOM VALVE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME The present disclosure relates to valve assemblies for reaction tanks. A bottom valve assembly (100) comprises a valve body (101) arranged at a bottom of a reaction tank. A valve seat (109) nested in the valve body (101) has grooves (121) connecting the gas inlet nozzle (117) to an interior of reaction tank. A seat cover (125) disposed over the valve seat (109) has a plurality of holes (129) in gas communication with the grooves (121). A flipper (123) disposed over the seat cover (125). Each flipper (123) has spikes (127) configured to enter corresponding holes (129) when closed, preventing process mass from entering the gas pathway. A piston (103) seals or opens the discharge port (119) and is mounted on a spindle (105) coupled to an actuating mechanism (113). The assembly provides improved aeration at deeper regions, reduced maintenance, and enhanced gas distribution efficiency. (FIG. 1)
