MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611070212 A) filed by Ims Engineering College, Ghaziabad on June 04, 2026, for A Botanical Extract-Based Eco-Friendly Pest Control Composition And A Method Of Preparation Thereof.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a botanical extract-based eco-friendly pest control composition comprising neem extract, garlic extract, chilli extract, pongamia extract, at least one essential oil, a natural emulsifier, a stabilizer and an aqueous carrier. The composition is designed to control agricultural and horticultural pests through multiple botanical mechanisms including repellence, feeding deterrence, oviposition reduction, larval growth suppression and plant-surface protection. The natural emulsifier improves dispersion of oil-soluble botanical constituents, while the stabilizer enhances shelf stability, sprayability and leaf adhesion. The invention further provides a method of preparation involving separate extraction of botanical materials, filtration, emulsification, stabilization and dilution into a uniform sprayable formulation. The composition is biodegradable, plant-compatible and suitable for foliar application in field crops, nurseries, greenhouse cultivation, kitchen gardens and organic farming systems. The invention provides an environmentally safer alternative to synthetic pesticides while maintaining effective pest management performance. Accompanied Drawing [FIGS. 1-2]
