MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611076414 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu on June 19, 2026, for A Biosorbent System And A Method Of Fabrication Thereof.
Inventors include Sanjay Kumar; and Akanksha Singh.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to biosorbent system and a method of fabrication thereof along with its application. The present invention provides robust, efficient, and environmentally sustainable, and facile approach for fabrication of the biosorbent system comprising microalgal biomass (Chlorella minutissima), green magnetite nanoparticles (FeNPs), an immobilization matrix (sodium alginate) and a non-porous glass beads (substrate) for immobilizing the microalgal biomass and the nanoparticles composite on activated non-porous glass beads in immobilization matrix that facilitates efficient and re-usable heavy metal remediation in polluted aqueous systems.
