Inventors include Behera, Devi Prasanna; Subadini, Suchismita; and Sahoo, Harekrushna.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: A BIOMOLECULAR COMPOSITION FOR STABILIZING BONE MORPHOGENETIC PROTEIN-2 (BMP-2) The present invention provides a biomolecular composition comprising recombinant Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP-2) and sulfated hyaluronic acid (SHA), which synergistically enhances the stability and bioactivity of BMP-2 under denaturing conditions. The composition prevents structural degradation, retains heparin-binding function, and maintains osteogenic activity, making it suitable for therapeutic use in bone regeneration and tissue engineering. A method of preparation for the biomolecular composition and a method for stabilizing BMP-2 under denaturing conditions are also provided herein.
