MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111297 A) filed by Chemraw Tech OPC Private Limited on September 16, 2026, for A Biomass-Derived Activated Carbon–graphene Composite And Method Of Preparing The Same.
Inventors include Dr. S. Varun; and Dr. Abdul Habid Pullichola.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a biomass-derived activated carbon–graphene composite (100) comprises coconut shell-derived activated carbon (102) having a hierarchical pore network (104), which comprises micropores (106), mesopores (108), and macropores (110). The coconut shell-derived activated carbon (102) comprises a surface area in a range of 1,000 to 1,500 square metres per gram. Rice husk ash-derived graphene (112) is incorporated into the coconut shell-derived activated carbon (102) at a concentration in a range of 0.1 to 1 percent by weight. The rice husk ash-derived graphene (112) is physically hosted, distributed within, and mechanically retained by the hierarchical pore network (104), which functions as a dispersion scaffold. The composite (100) is configured to exhibit electrical conductivity and capacitive charge-storage functionality within a common carbon matrix.
