MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113480 A) filed by Anurag University on September 22, 2026, for A Bioencapsulated Trichoderma Delivery System For Hydroponic Agricultural Applications.

Inventors include Dr. Shrey Bodhankar; Dr. Sai Shivakrishnaprasad Vurukonda; and Dr. Shreedhar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a bioencapsulated Trichoderma delivery system (100) for controlled microbial release in hydroponic agricultural systems. The system (100) comprises a Trichoderma biological agent (101), an alginate matrix (102), a protective additive composition (103), a calcium-based cross-linking agent (104), bioencapsulated alginate beads (105), a bead application arrangement (106), a hydroponic cultivation environment (107), and a controlled microbial release mechanism (108). The Trichoderma biological agent (101) is incorporated into the alginate matrix (102) together with the protective additive composition (103), and the mixture is cross-linked using the calcium-based cross-linking agent (104) to form the bioencapsulated alginate beads (105). The bead application arrangement (106) introduces the beads (105) into a hydroponic nutrient solution and/or root-zone region. The controlled microbial release mechanism (108) gradually releases viable Trichoderma into the hydroponic cultivation environment (107), thereby providing sustained microbial availability for biological management of plant pathogens and supporting plant growth.
