Abstract: The present invention discloses a biodegradable conductive composite material comprising polylactic acid (PLA) reinforced with carbon dots for sensor applications. The incorporation of nanoscale carbon dots into the PLA matrix enhances electrical conductivity, mechanical properties, and sensing performance. The composite is fabricated using a controlled process involving carbon dot synthesis, dispersion, mixing, melt blending, and extrusion or molding. The uniform distribution of carbon dots results in the formation of conductive networks, enabling detection of mechanical deformation through resistance variation. The developed material is cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and suitable for applications in wearable sensors, biomedical devices, structural monitoring, and additive manufacturing.
