Abstract: The present invention discloses a bevel gear-assisted quick lift screw jack featuring a perpendicular hand lever drive mechanism for rapid vehicle elevation. Conventional screw jacks employ a direct drive lead screw configuration requiring the operator to rotate a handle in a horizontal plane aligned with the screw axis. This arrangement necessitates continuous circular arm motion in the same plane as the vehicle undercarriage, resulting in slow linear travel per handle revolution, prolonged operator positioning in awkward bent or squatting postures, and considerable physical effort particularly for elderly users and women. The single-start thread configuration of traditional jacks provides limited mechanical advantage per rotation, extending the lifting cycle duration. The core novelty lies in introducing a bevel gear transmission stage between the hand lever input and the lead screw output. A straight bevel gear set with perpendicular shaft axes converts horizontal hand lever rotation into vertical plane rotation of the lead screw. The gear ratio amplifies input rotation, enabling multiple lead screw revolutions per single hand lever turn, thereby achieving faster vehicle elevation with reduced operator effort. The hand lever operates in a vertical plane perpendicular to the vehicle body, allowing the operator to maintain an upright or comfortably seated position during jack operation. The invention addresses the need for a low-cost, mechanically efficient, and ergonomically superior lifting device. The total fabrication cost approximates Z4,100 using a mild steel structural frame, cast iron bevel gear set, and standard lead screw components. The jack maintains the inherent self locking characteristic of square or trapezoidal thread forms, ensuring load holding without backdriving, while the bevel gear multiplication enables lifting of vehicles weighing up to 500 kg with substantially reduced operator input torque.
