The beam (100) comprises a structure (101) and a laminate (110) disposed around the structure (101). The structure (101) includes a first layer (102), a second layer (104) positioned opposite to the first layer (102), and an intermediate layer (106) disposed between the first layer (102) and the second layer (104). The intermediate layer (106) is defined with one or more recesses (116a, 116b, 116c). The structure (101) further includes one or more inserts (108a, 108b, 108c) adapted to be received within the corresponding recess (116a, 116b, 116c) of the intermediate layer (106) to reinforce the beam (100).
