Abstract: The present invention relates to a battery-less wireless poultry health monitoring system for detecting mortality of individual hens in commercial poultry environments is disclosed. The system comprises a Wireless Power Transmission and Gateway Unit (1000) including a Power Supply Unit (1001), a Wireless Power Transmission Module and Antenna (1002), a Backscatter Receiver Module (1004), a Gateway Processing Unit (1005), and a Network Communication Interface (1006). The system further comprises a Battery-less Wearable Hen Tag Unit (2000) including an Energy Harvesting Antenna (2001), a Power Capturing and Rectification Circuit (2002), a Body Temperature Sensor (2003), a Motion Detection Sensor (2004), a Signal Conditioning Circuit (2005), an Ultra-Low-Power Microcontroller Unit (2006), a Mortality Decision Logic Module (2007), a Tag Identification Encoder (2008), an RF Backscatter Modulation Circuit (2009), a Visual Indicator (2010), and an Audible Alert Unit (2011). Mortality is confirmed when body temperature falls below a predefined threshold and no movement is detected for a predefined duration. Mortality status data is transmitted to a Cloud Server Platform (3000) and displayed on User Interface Devices (4000).
