MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110678 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on September 15, 2026, for A Base Station And Method For Configuring Component Carriers Serving A Multi-Sim User Equipment.
Inventors include Nimishakavi Ramachandra Sanjeev; and Abhinav Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a base station (104) and a method (300) for configuring component carriers serving a multi-subscriber-identity-module (MUSIM) user equipment (UE) (120). The method (300) includes receiving (302), from the MUSIM UE (120), a periodic tune-away pattern having a repetition period and a gap duration shared by synchronized component carriers that are simultaneously unavailable during the gap duration. A packet arrival rate and a target mean packet latency are obtained (304). Based on the periodic tune-away pattern, a first moment and a second moment of a packet service time are determined (306). A minimum number of synchronized component carriers required to satisfy the target mean packet latency is determined (308) based on the packet arrival rate, the target mean packet latency, the first moment, and the second moment. The minimum number of synchronized component carriers is configured (310) for serving the MUSIM UE (120).
