Abstract: A 3D-Printable Lightweight Modular Drone Structural Framework for Sustainable Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Applications The present invention relates to a 3D- printable lightweight modular drone structural framework for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications. The framework comprises an integrated structural assembly including a canopy, top lid, GPS holder, wings, stand, motor holders, and battery holder configured within a unified geometry optimized for additive manufacturing. The framework is preferably fabricated through Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) using bio-based thermoplastic materials, particularly polylactic acid (PLA), thereby enabling sustainable and low-energy manufacturing. The wings incorporate reinforcement members and lateral bending prevention structures, while the motor holders comprise thrust-balancing reinforcements and vibration-reducing stiffness beams. The framework further incorporates a gyroid-based internal lattice architecture providing enhanced strength-to-weight ratio, isotropic load distribution, vibration damping, impact resistance, and thermal airflow management. The invention reduces assembly complexity, material consumption, and manufacturing cost while enabling rapid prototyping, customization, and scalable production. The framework is suitable for agricultural monitoring, surveillance, environmental sensing, disaster management, research, and educational UAV applications.
